CablesProject summary

Coppertech Renewables were appointed to deliver the full mechanical and electrical scope at Chapel Street Solar Farm after a change from the original contractor.

At the point of mobilisation, the project was a few months behind programme. Through focused re-planning, mobilisation and supply chain coordination, we successfully recovered time on the build schedule significantly reducing the EPC’s exposure to liquidated damages.

The project was delivered in parallel with the nearby 80 MW Stonehollow Solar Farm. Combined, these two sites marked over 100 MW of concurrent full-scope delivery by Coppertech, reinforcing our position as one of the UK’s most capable end-to-end solar contractors.

Electrical boxesChallenges overcome

Chapel Street presented multiple technical and delivery risks. In addition to the inherited programme delays, the project required a full electrical redesign and faced ongoing component availability issues.

Coppertech deployed experienced engineering and management teams to help co-ordinate the redesign process and realign construction activities with revised delivery schedules.

The project is being delivered in association with the revised programme, to standard, and with a strong working relationship maintained with the EPC and stakeholders throughout.
